Alfeuio Residence
After exploring several schemes, we decided to locate the living area on the first floor, and the bedrooms upstairs. The house has an open floor plan so the clients can keep an eye on their children. The kitchen, also the nucleus of the family, is visually connected to the children’s room. Additionally, it opens up towards Akrotiri Bay across an orchard to the south. A hammock netting extends the children room above the living space to provide a safe but playful home. A straight stairway connects the 2 levels with wood finished floating treads allowing light to filter down to the media center and living room. The toilet room, shower and the wash basin are separated to maximize usage. Teak finishes creates a warm and comforting atmosphere, meanwhile the exterior is clad in locally sourced stone allowing the building to blend in with traditional homes of the region.
